From pilot to passport

Three generations of the product passport.

Lindex and Eton started with pilot pages. Now the passport is built with the data the law requires and the services built in. Same product, same code on the label. Generation 3 is our sketch of a next step and not finished: a good passport is ongoing work.

The standards, and what they mean

The standards EN 18216 and EN 18219–18223 were developed by CEN-CLC/JTC 24 and named by the EU. Follow them, and the authority presumes the technical part is right.

ESPR

A validated passport

Every passport is checked before it is published, and you see straight away what is missing.

EN 18219

An address that never changes

GS1 Digital Link on every GTIN. The code on the label works for the product's whole life.

EN 18220

The code works for everyone

QR today, NFC and RFID when you want.

EN 18221

The passport stays

Archived in versions, even if you change systems.

EN 18222

Machine-readable

Your systems and the authorities' fetch the data through a standard API.

EN 18216

One format all the way

Data moves between suppliers, you and the market without reformatting.

EN 18223

No lock-in

Works with other systems through a common information model.

Check any passport.

The validator grades a passport against ESPR and the standards. Try it with Lindex's shell jacket, or with your own.
